As a professional, you know that clean oil is critical for optimal engine and equipment performance and for controlling costs. Dirty oil promotes toxic emissions and grinds away at critical engine components as your engine operates. Consistent finely cleaned engine oil is considered a Best Practice for its economic and environmental benefits.

Some filtration products use complicated and expensive technologies (using rotating parts), other solutions include a combination filter (with a small loading area requiring frequent filter changes), others require considerable time and engine modifications to install. Specially formulated oils and synthetics can be expensive. PPI’s advanced filtration solution is provided at a modest price, requires no engine modifications or special tools to install, and offers more benefits.
Most engine wear is caused by debris smaller than 10 microns, which far is below what the factory full-flow filter is designed to trap. By installing a denser media filter to capture this most dangerous debris, complementary filtration is the most viable proven solution.
PAF’s patented technology sends finely cleaned oil (<5 microns) directly into the engine galleries where it is needed, not into the sump or top of the engine, making it very energy-efficient. Unlike legacy systems, PAF requires no engine modifications, offering a much easier and faster installation.
PAF can work with any engine, gas, diesel, or other, as long as it has a lubricating system and spin-on oil filter. It works equally well with the least expensive mineral oils and the highest-grade synthetics
No. While PAF requires about a quart of additional to compensate for the secondary filter, this increase in oil lets the engine run cooler. The oil pressure will not be adversely affected. Further, oil at operating at a lower temperature is very unlikely to shear, provided your oil change intervals are not excessive. When oil sampling is conducted, which we recommend, oil shearing should not be a concern.
Under normal operating conditions, the Donaldson advanced oil filter will achieve, and may exceed 25,000 miles. It should be checked periodically as part of the normal maintenance routine. This consists of placing a hand on it while the engine is at operating temperature: hot = good, cold = loaded. The fail-safe: if the filter loads completely, the lubricating system simply reverts to sending oil directly to the full-flow filter, as if the advanced system was no longer there.

No, unless a specific disclaimer is written into your purchasing contract, which is highly unlikely. The Federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (Sec. 700.10 Section 102(c)) states that no dealer or manufacturer can void a warranty simply because an add-on performance accessory has been installed. Ford, GM, Volvo, and Cummins, among almost all other OEMs have provided documentation to support this claim.

The PAF filter that is provided is tuned to match the pressure differential between the supply and return ports, allowing the finely cleaned oil to pass directly into the engine. We cannot guarantee whether PAF will work as expected when using other filters, or if attaching it to other devices. We will do our best to advise you if you have any concerns. Note that the warranty may be voided should a non-PPI approved replacement filter cause engine or other damage.
