TopDog V is an environmentally-friendly, low cost "Full Spectrum Oil Filtration"™ that redefines engine oil filtration by providing parallel 2 micron oil bypass, full-flow, and optional magnetic filtration in a kit that installs in under fifteen minutes. Since the oil is cleaned to about 2 microns or less every 5-10 minutes, engine wear is significantly reduced, and engine performance is optimized. Access ports allow easy entry to the oil system, and a tap at the bypass allows super clean oil to be sent to the turbo. Vehicle owners, whether their engines run on gas, Diesel, E-85, or are hybrids, can protect their investment, save money, prevent repairs, sustain peak hp, and reduce emissions with TD-V’s advanced powertrain protection.

Many recent studies have suggested that there is great benefit to be derived from advanced/bypass filtration. The DOE, EPA, Department of Defense, and many other public and private sector researchers have studied the benefits for advanced/bypass filtration. In virtually every case, they found an increase of oil and filter life, a modest reduction of emissions, a modest increase in fuel economy, extended service intervals, longer engine and component life, and a reduced negative environmental footprint.

Using a significantly different architecture to traditional bypass systems, intended primarily for class-8 vehicles and a few others, TD-V is able to bring those benefits to everyday vehicles at a very competitive price. TD-V’s design eliminates the expensive plumbing required by traditional systems, as it also eliminates the parasitic oil flow they require to effect bypass filtration. The filtered oil is injected directly into the oil main flow, where most of the benefits are desired. Installation time is significantly reduced as well, since the intake and return of filtered oil is made directly through a simple, passive adapter, placed between the engine and stock spin-on oil filter. Also, the adapter’s design allows for the connection of parallel oil devices, such as a heat exchanger, where oil flow to the exchanger can be made manually or automatically, i.e.: for off-road applications or thermal control, among other parallel oil loads or pumps.

Without high complexity or expense, TopDog V quickly delivers quality bypass grade filtration benefits to everyday vehicles: greatly increased oil, filter, engine, and component life, fuel efficiency, low maintenance, optional powerful magnetic filtration, possible portability, and easy oil system access for gauges, turbochargers, etc.

In summary, bypass filtration systems promote engine wear protection and other benefits by removing very small particulates. PPI’s bypass filtration system provides a number of significant competitive advantages over virtually all other filtration systems. These include, but are not limited to, the following benefits:

1. Ease of installation. This system takes between five and fifteen minutes to install. No need to locate and access the oil sending unit or plumb to several locations. All connections are made at either the adapter or the remote mount. Since the system requires less plumbing than most other bypass arrangements, there is less likelihood of failure or leakage at a connection point.
2. The system provides additional ports for simple and easy access to the oil system, and is designed as a platform for future growth (e.g., advanced filtration). The ports can be used for many applications, such as an oil pressure gauge, a clean testing port, an Accusump, or as a feed line to the turbo bearings (providing the cleanest oil available in the lubrication system). Future growth may include new filtration products, oil cooling, or other devices.
3. The cleaned oil is sent directly into the engine gallery, avoiding side-streaming to the sump, which requires removing 5 to 15% of much needed oil flow to the engine, and which may be detrimental to older engines.
4. The current bypass filter we offer as part of the system has a 2 micron capture rate. This rate is recognized by the SAE as the lowest safe threshold before engine wear damage can occur.

1. TopDog V (solo) contains the spacer/adapter, nipple, and spare gaskets.  Please note that because the return is directly to the engine, not to the sump, TopDog V requires a low resistance bypass filter.
2.  TopDog V (kit) contains the above, plus fittings, 6’ of hydraulic hose (rubber), a remote mount, and an AMSOIL EaBP90 (smaller) or AMSOIL EaBP100 (larger/Diesel) filter rated at 2 microns absolute.
