Like a silent, vigilant sentry, MagDog is a powerful machined aluminum billet magnetic filtration device that fits between your engine and spin-on oil filter, constantly guarding against abrasion caused by ferromagnetic and related debris. Easy to install and maintain, and with no moving parts, MagDog provides a most inexpensive insurance against engine wear damage possible.
If You Still Don’t Think Removal of Ferrous Debris is Important, Please Read On: In their November 3, 2004 Lube-Tips release, Noria made the following statement: “ . . . the practice of using magnetic plugs and other magnetic devices for collecting and inspecting ferrous materials in lubricated systems is considered best practice and should not be disregarded.” See http://www.lube-tips.com/focus/2004_11_03.htm for the complete quote.
Since most engine wear damage occurs at startup, simply changing the oil more frequently is at best an incomplete solution. Wear damage begins immediately with the change of oil. And remember that although damage can occur due to debris as small as to 5 microns, full-flow filters are not able to trap debris below 15-25 microns. Simply relying on frequent oil and filter changes for protection can be costly and can also be environmentally damaging, particularly if the used oil and filters are improperly disposed.
